What is the Making Home Affordable Program?
The Obama Administration instituted the Making Home Affordable program to help 7 to 9 million at risk homeowners reduce their monthly mortgage payments to as low as 2 percent, either through a loan modification – Home Affordable Modification – or a refinance – Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP).
This program requires that you take an eligibility test at the www.MakingHomeAffordable.gov website. This test will let you know if you are eligible for a modification through a government-sponsored HASP.
