If you have received the notice for foreclosure in Houston, you must be feeling like you have lost control over the situation but you would be happy to know that still, there are many options you can work on for stopping foreclosure. One of these options is selling your house.
It not only gives you the control over the sale of your house but also allows you to pay the lender in full and protect your credit score. Such a sale that is done before foreclosure after signing an agreement with your lender is known as a short sale.

No doubt your credit score will also get affected by short sale but the damage will be less than the foreclosure. Remembering that the foreclosure is not going to benefit you in any case, you must put your house for sale in order to come out of the situation. And here are some tips that will help you in the sale process.

Getting legal help is the first step
The first thing that you need to do after getting the notice for foreclosure is contacting an experienced foreclosure lawyer or foreclosure agent in Houston. An experienced agent/lawyer will let you know about your options and the time you have to work on any of those. Also, he will guide you to choose the best option. Being already interested in the sale of your house, you can ask him about the possibilities.

Hire a real estate agent
After making the decision to sell your house, you must find and hire a real estate agent who would help you in the sale of your house. Try to find the one who would have experience in the foreclosures and can effectively understand the urgency to find a buyer for your house.
You can also make a contact with Houston TX listing agent who would list your house on the major real estate websites. By doing so, he will help you in attracting maximum buyers for your house.

Work on its curb appeal
No doubt doing repairs and renovations would be hard for you due to the financial issue, but there is a lot that you can still do to improve its curb appeal. For an instance, you can clean your house thoroughly to improve its looks, declutter it to make it look spacious and can depersonalize it to let the buyer imagine himself in the house. Also, there are some items in the house that we don't use. Either you can donate such items or can put all of them in the store room to free some space in your house.

Advertise your home properly
Once you are done with improving the curb appeal of your house, you must do its marketing. Don't just list your property with the real estate agents; you should list it on all the real estate websites, social media portals and more, to make your property visible to the potential buyers.

" While doing all this, you must keep a regular contact with your lender. You should give him regular updates to make him know that how hard you are trying to arrange the money. By being cooperative to your lender, you may get more support from his side. For an instance, if your reason is genuine, your lender may give you some extra time for selling your house or can put the foreclosure process on hold. Though there is no surety that your lender will provide extra support, you can try it if you really want to stop foreclosure in Houston and want to sell your house yourself."
